1. Types of Paper Coffee Cups

A. By Wall Material

Single Wall Paper Cups

Description: Made of a single layer of paperboard.

Pros: Lightweight, cheaper.

Cons: Poor heat insulation - can be hot to hold.

Use: Cold or warm drinks; often paired with a sleeve for hot beverages.

Double Wall Paper Cups

Description: Two layers of paperboard, creating an air gap for insulation.

Pros: Good heat insulation, comfortable to hold without a sleeve.

Cons: Slightly more expensive.

Use: Hot coffee, tea, or specialty drinks.

PE or PLA Coated Cups

PE Coating: Polyethylene coating for waterproofing.

PLA Coating: Biodegradable plant-based coating for eco-friendly cups.

Use: Both hot and cold drinks; PLA preferred for sustainable options.

Regular Lid Cups

Standard domed or flat lids with sip holes.

For take-away coffee or tea.

Dome Lid Cups

Extra space for whipped cream or frothy drinks.

Collapsible or Ripple Wall Cups

Additional insulation via a corrugated layer (often disposable double-wall style).

Hot Beverage Cups

Usually 8 oz–20 oz.

PE or PLA coated for liquid-proofing.

Double-wall preferred for comfort.
